It’s been all over the news…

A pair of PHP vulnerabilities (PHP2Shell) created a worldwide frenzy to install security updates as fears that cyber criminals could hack web servers. iNetPlanet acted quickly to avoid troubles. All of our servers are up to date and none of our customers’ websites experienced problems.
PHP is a widely used programming language behind millions of websites, including sites built with WordPress. It is estimated that 70% of websites are at risk. The weaknesses are considered critical by PHP developers and researchers.
We reacted to the emergency quickly by briefly shutting down all of our hosting services while security patches were installed. Our web servers use customized, finely tuned firewall tools to shut out bad actors and we are vigilant in our efforts to tweak rules and apply updates as new threats emerge.
For those who have websites hosted with other providers, we encourage you to ensure that your host has installed the appropriate updates.
